Experience the pristine wilderness of Mallacoota's lakes. Enjoy the beautiful scenery, birdlife and local sights. See the sea eagles as they swoop down next to the ferry for their feed of fish. Commentary and morning or afternoon tea is provided.
On the far shore of the lake lies the site of the original Mallacoota township and ruins of the Lakeview Hotel (built in 1882). After cruising the lake and viewing the birdlife on the Goodwin Sands, take a 30 minute guided walk around this historic and seldom visited. Wear sandals or bring a small towel as we cross a shallow creek (water depth 6 inches). Commentary and morning or afternoon tea is provided.
Cruise the bottom lake, past the abundant birdlife of the Goodwin Sands. We're then off to the ideal picnic and swimming area of Cemetery Bight where there is a 30 minute guided walk to the Spotted Dog gold mine area - for those who wish. Commentary and morning or afternoon tea is provided.
A relaxing sightseeing cruise on the lakes. Experience the lake's tranquility, wilderness and changing colours. Enjoy the varied flora, fauna, including the magnificent sea eagles and perhaps the resident seal in their natural habitat.
The Loch-Ard can be booked to drop off and/or pick up bush walkers.
